Sofía Valbuena-Castor, MD (she/her/hers)

Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellow
Northwell

Sofía Valbuena-Castor is currently a Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellow at Northwell North Shore-LIJ in New York. She completed a 7-year BS/MD program at the CUNY School of Medicine and went on to complete Internal Medicine Residency at Northwell North Shore-LIJ. Living and training in one of the most diverse areas in the country has driven her dedication to minority communities. She is interested in how best to address low utilization of hospice and palliative care by underserved populations and how policy changes can help these individuals.
