After a wonderful career in internal medicine, I started practicing palliative medicine in 2003. I started this practice as a full-time Hospice medical director. I then went onto work only in a consultative palliative medicine role. However, my passion throughout my palliative care career has been hospice and was happy to find a clinical role that allowed me to work in both area areas. As I enter retirement this year, I will miss the work and the patients. I continue to work to advance and advocete for the principles of hospice.
